Hi Everyone,

Some folks have asked me to share a bit about the song "Better Than This," which is our current radio single. It's a pretty simple song. I wrote it in college one day after church. I spent the drive home thinking over the things I had heard that morning and came to this conclusion: I knew a whole lot about God, but I really didn't know HIM at all. This song just deals with the frustration and longing of being human and having even the honest, hopeful and believing parts of you not as honest, hopeful or believing as we want. It's a condition, however, that the Lord has promised will fade in the glory of Himself.

Psalm 139 is a unique scripture for me. It is, at least to date, the only passage that I have never been able to escape being touched by. It is in these words that I find God reaching out to me, even when I am running away. Kevin, who teaches my sunday school class was talking to us a few weeks ago, this is what I pulled from it, (although it's not phrased nearly as well.). No part of us, right now, can want God purely enough or honestly enough. That's not the point. This is what Grace is, that God loves us and will continue to reveal himself to us because he is good, not only when we are. The song is simply an attempt to get to the place where I can realize that grace is already in affect.

Grace & Peace,
Andrew
