Journal entry for: 1-27-2000

Hello everyone

It's me again, this time hailing from beautiful New Orleans, LA. We're finally making that record we keep talking about. We've tracked four songs right now, and we're feeling better about them than probably anything we've ever done before. We can definitely tell that there are people out there praying for us, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND PLEASE DONąT STOP!!

We've been having a great time down here. Our producer and his crew are a great bunch of guys. Incredibly talented and they really believe in what we're doing. It's been a very interesting time, too, as none of them are Christians. We started to realize earlier this year that our whole sphere of existence was surrounded by Christians and that, as good as it is to be edified and encouraged, we had also grown complacent and lazy. It's hard, but good, to be in a position where every word and action is watched and analyzed as proof to whether or not that God you keep talking about has really affected your life or not. So we purposefully decided to do our record in an environment that would not only encourage us musically and creatively, but spiritually as well. And it's also good to have guys around who aren't versed at all in "Christianese", as we call it, so we can know that if our songs make sense and are understood by these guys, then they're probably free of that kind of language.

Anyway, all that to say that we're having fun, and getting pushed and pulled and challenged and stretched, etc . . . And we're making a record that we think, so far, really lives up to our desire for honesty, uniqueness, creativity and clarity to talk about the incredible love and grace of our God. Thanks once again for all of your prayers and your notes of encouragement. I still have my e-mail down here, so feel free to write. Thanks you guys so much. I'll talk to you again soon.

Grace and Peace
Andrew

P.S. We're hoping to get a new website up soon, specifically for the studio, so that we can keep everybody really involved in the making of the record. Thanks for your patience with our current site. Help is on the way!!
